Nicholas Richie :: Sunny Day

Sunny days usually mean that I’m off somewhere photographing someone or something which isn’t a bad thing these days.  But one thing that I promised myself that I would do in the 2011 is spend more time photographing and blogging about my own family members.  Let’s face it, I can remember my father saying one day “if you don’t have family, you don’t have shizzz” (I made a substitution for that last word).  But you get the point.

Anyway, for those of you who live in the Greater Huntsville Area, you know that we have not had too many Sunny days.  But a few weekends ago, the sun came out and we (my wife Tina & I ) took Nicholas for a stroll in the park downtown.  We fed the ducks, listen to music and walked the train tracks.

Every time I get the opportunity to photograph family members, the camera of choice is now my film camera.   It’s just something about ‘the feel’ that I get when I see a photo taken from a film camera that I just haven’t seen from a digital.  Anyway, I shot 24 exposures and I’ll share with you 4!

Hope you enjoy!

Nicholas looking at the different colored fish and calling out the colors!  Gotta love it!

We’ve been feeding the ducks and fish; somehow he sat still without jumping in the water!  Gotta love a quick focus!

One of my favorite shots!  When I look at railroad tracks, I thing of how short they are… when I see him between them, I now think of how much precious cargo they support!

We’ve had a long day and it’s now time to call it a day!  What’s for lunch?

I’ve been doing some film sessions for clients and have scheduled a few more for upcoming dates.  If you’re looking for something different and/or are interested in scheduling a film B&W session, send me an email and we’ll see if we can swing it! It’ll be totally fun!!

Talk to you soon,
Richie
