As promised, here are the photographs that I took that were used in the debut release of Cohesion Magazine!
With Cohesion Magazine being a Madison County quarterly, I realized that some of my readers are not in Madison County and will not have the opportunity to see my published work…. thank God for cameras & scanners!
Below are the pages that share my photography. Hope you enjoy my work and I also hope that you pick up a copy of the magazine.

There’s a new magazine in Huntsville by the name of Cohesion!
This magazine is Madison County’s premiere quarterly business, lifestyle, and networking magazine committed to encouraging entrepreneurship and financial stability throughout the Madison County Area, especially among minorities and women.
I was asked to do photography for several of their clients which I did and those clients… DeJeas Boutique, Dr. Whitney Dunham OB/GYN and Sterling Travel. The editors of Cohesion liked my work to the point where they offered me a sweet deal where their designers would design an ad for Richie Carter Photography to be placed in their magazine. I was nervous at first because I’m usually the guy on the other side of the camera… I said, what the heck and let them be creative with any of my images (which I hate to see images of myself). I was sent 3 proofs and boy was I stunned with aw!!!!
Big shot out to Christy @ KREASHUNS GRAPHIC GROUP http://www.kreashuns.biz for creating the images…
I loved all 3 images and had a hard time deciding on which one to use. So I didn’t decide… I let my wife have the honors. Below is the image that she liked best and I couldn’t agree with her more. Hope you enjoy my photo and I also hope that you pick up a copy of the magazine.

When Apple announced their newest advanced technology device, the iPad, at first I didn’t know what to think until I saw Steve Job’s press coverage…. that’s when I got excited. At that moment I knew this single device could change the way I present my portfolio at the client meetings.
I have been waiting for a device that’s cool and revolutionary for my photography world. I hate bringing my 17″ Macbook Pro way to big..
Apple’s iPad is the answer to my prayers!
I travels a lot for my photography, Apple Ipad will help me bring all my portfolio images anywhere in the world and showing off my work to my potential clients.
Great Job Mr Steve Jobs!

What have I been up to, I just finished working a different kind of project but a great one! I designed and authored the website for AVO Publishing.
AVO Publishing, http://avopublishing.com is a quality small and independent press located in Huntsville, AL. They’ve been in business for approximately 5 years and offer a variety of services, mainly publishing and promoting works of award-winning Poet/Author Marc Lacy. They also offer self publishing consulting services, essence of spoken word workshops as well as a forthcoming slate of web copy packages.
Many people on FB have great words of wisdom that need to published for the world to see. AVO Publishing can help you do just that!
Please check out their website and check back often to see what’s new!
Thanks,

A few months ago, I was blessed to have one of my photographs posted on the inside of “Gospel Today” magazine, and I was truly elated. This just goes to show you that through hard work and perseverance, the sky is the limit!
Today I want to share my latest publication. I got to do the Premier Issue cover shoot for “RADAR” magazine! RADAR Magazine highlights products and services provided by business owners across the Tennessee Valley as well as spotlight prominent and influential individuals.
On Sunday, 1.10.10, “RADAR” held their magazine launch party where I also photographed people on the “Red Carpet”. These photos can be viewed and purchased at http://richiecarter.com Just enter the “client” section. To learn more about this magazine, visit them online at http://radarmagazines.com
Many people can say that they’ve shot magazine covers but only a few can say that they’ve shot the Premier Issue… Vol I, Issue I.
Pretty cool huh?

Saturday, 12.05.09, we got our first snow and we decided to introduce Nicholas to it. As you can tell by the tear in his eye, he didn’t like it… But I’m sure in due time, he’ll grow to love it!
Enjoy,

Dr. Julius Scruggs
It’s not often that you get to photograph someone that is running for the presidency for the National Baptist Convention (NBC). The largest historically black baptist organization. Well, this summer I got that chance to photograph Dr. Julius R. Scruggs, and his staff, for his campaign for the presidency… and I must say that I enjoyed the opportunity!
During his campaign, many of my images were used in various ways. I must say that seeing your work in action is a GOOD feeling. One that I will always treasure.
In Sept. of this year (2009), Dr. Scruggs won the presidency of the NBC and is now over about 7.5 million Christians. As a result, Gospel Today wrote this article on Dr. Scruggs and one of my photos from the shoot was submitted.
To see my work used in Gospel Today, gave me a feeling like non-other! I was elated to see two of my images of Dr. Scruggs in use on pages 2 and 28. I specifically took the photo on page 28 as one for victory! Pretty cool huh?

LyriCode 256
As a photographer, I have photographed many interesting people. One of my FAVORITE projects, by far, was to work on a fellow artists vision / inspiration. Not being tied down by so many rules and guidelines, allows my creative juices to flow… that’s when I can excel!
A few months ago, Marc Lacy, (poet/author) approached me about his latest upcoming project, “LyriCode 256”. A soul-stirring spoken word CD. He was looking for a photographer that could not only give him the IMAGE that he was looking for, but also have the ability to complete his project from start to finish.
His requirement was a complete Press Ready 4 panel CD jacket, plus CD, as seen in your local music store. This project not only included a studio photo session but direct work with Layout, Design and the Replicators specific requirements. Being that I’ve never done this before, I jumped at the chance to add this to my arsenal of services. I must say this was a great experience and as a result, I’ve been in contact with other clients about creating final press ready production pieces.
If you would like to listen to some of the samples, check it out @ http://cdbaby.com/cd/marclacy3
Having been selected out of many Professional Photography & Design Studios to create his CD project was an honor for me.
