On January 29th, 2011, AVO Publishing held an enormous CD release celebration for Poet/Author Marc Lacy for spoken word EP “Narcoleptic.” During this function many impressions, connections, and business deals were established. Through blessings from up above and selfless contributions from many friends and supporters, the release celebration turned out to be a remarkable occasion on several levels one of which one was a short conversation during the staff debrief on January 30th, 2011 during which “the challenge” was issued.

After most of the business was discussed, I challenged Marc Lacy to orchestrate a spoken word event with top-notch national talent and refer to it as “Marc Lacy and Friends.” Marc graciously accepted. Shortly thereafter in a joking yet serious tone, Marc challenged me to do just the same… to facilitate an event highlighting my photographic body of work and I humbly accepted.
